Posted about 1 month ago Hello, I am a licensed Spanish teacher who lost my job at a public school last year and have now been in contact with several mothers who home school their children and would like me to teach their children Spanish. There are 6 teenagers all around the same age so I could make a small class out of them. My question is, how much should I charge? I have found a church where we can meet and use a classroom for almost no cost. The pastor of this church advised that I consider many factors before deciding on a fee: vacation time, benefits, etc that I will not be getting paid for like I was as a full time public school teacher. I will not be putting in the same number of hours, but I don't want to sell myself short. This pastor also recommended that I have the parents pay per semester or per year rather than per class. Other churches would not allow us to use their building because they were concerned about liability. Any suggestions??? |
