Hi My name is Peggy and this question is for Special Education teachers or anyone that works with students with special needs.  My question to all is can you please explain to me how computers are used with your special needs students in your district? Can you write as much as you can and include what the disability is, what school district and you can just write a alias name or your first name and how you have students with special needs to work with technology? Thank you very much!

Our special ed kids are in the regular classroom.  We have some autistic, and down syndrome kids.  I am in the elementary computer lab and we have those kids work on a program called Broadlearn (google it for more info on the software).  The kids LOVE it and it reinforces great learning skills in all other content areas (literacy, math, science).  It was created for special needs children but I use it with all of my students.
