Posted 4 months ago Let's suppose that your son or your daughter wanted, with all their heart, to be a teacher would you agree with his/her decision? or would you say that you prefer something better for him/her. What would you do? Would you think "Teaching is good for me but for my children...mmm"? |

Posted 4 months ago Fer, I have had this discussion with my daughter and it is truly up to her. If that is what she desires, then would I actually be acting as a good parent to deter her from her dream or desire. It is not my decision what career path she chooses, it is my decision to help her make it there. Every cloud has a silver lining.

Posted 4 months ago TEACHER_411: if she weren't good for teaching what would you do? I know some teacher that are good but not all who come from a family of teacher are good at teaching . There are many people that choose a profession just becuase of the influence of the parents and they end up doing what they really like.

Posted 4 months ago I would not mind. It is her future, not mine. I think that many times we love what we do and want our children to carry on our legacy, but we need to let them feel comfortable enough and supported to create thier own legacy. does that make sense? Every cloud has a silver lining.

Posted 4 months ago I am glad that makes sense to more than myself. My mind seems to be in many different places lately. My computer decided to die on me this week, so I battle for space on the public library computers and it can be frustrating and mind draining trying to cram everything I used to do in hours into 55 minutes. Every cloud has a silver lining.
