Posted 4 months ago This is a lovely article - I especially like the emphasis placed on calmness in the midst of chaos; that's one of the most essential elements of classroom management at this level. And this quote is great:
“Middle school is like Scotch,” she reflected in the teachers’ lounge one afternoon. “At first you try to get it down. Then you get used to it. Then it’s all you order.” Yup, it's an "acquired taste", but once you acquire it, nothing else satisfies quite as much.

| Posted 4 months ago Nice metaphor. Have never tried Scotch (unless we are talking about scotch tape, then I use that a lot), but am sure it is an acquired taste:) Every cloud has a silver lining. |
