| Posted 4 months ago Dear Donia, It depends, of course, on the country. In the USA, while we have the right to choose and vote freely in elections, it's amazing (and sad) how many people choose NOT to choose (i.e. don't vote.) Since the USA is a democratic republic, we elect representatives (congress-people and, of course, the president) to propose and enact the laws. Regarding this arrangement: "It has been said that democracy is the worst form of government except all the others that have been tried."
