Posted over 2 years ago This is a fun question that I'm sure we'll all have different answers to- so let's share! I'll go first. I love teaching is because every day is new, different and full of promise. |

Posted over 2 years ago I only made it to being an Assistant Teacher, but here goes: I love teaching, because it forces me to be less selfish, and back up my ideals about the world. I can trick myself into believing things that are wrong, or silly; but I will never let myself trick students in this way.

Posted over 2 years ago Because teaching is one of the most optimistic and proactive ways to change the world for the better that I can think of. Because I know my students leave everyday with something more than they came in with and their lives will be better for it. Because I can change the way they view each other and the rest of the world with what I do...because it's a position of immense power to do enormous good. Because my students are some of the most wonderful people in the world.

Posted over 2 years ago I love teaching because I enjoy seeing those light bulbs 'light up' and help them 'see' the world. I allow my students to teach me as well. Having fun in the class and getting smiles from each student is the greatest joy.

Posted over 2 years ago That rewarding feeling you get when a former student visits you and they have a notable career. That smile that comes to my face when a student or parent stops me in the store....LOOK Mom...there's my teacher! That awesome feeling on the last day of school....when you know you've seen the students grow--no matter what their academic scores were. That's why I love teaching.

Posted over 2 years ago I love teaching because after a career in the military, a career before that as an autobody person, and a person that does not even have their Bachelors degree, I am SO able to relate to tough students and help get them on the right track. I also like the fact that you get to "start over" each and every year. I have been teaching three years (formally) and really like it, although I quit after the first year (small town mentallity) and was never going to go back! All in all, it keeps me young at heart and on my toes, especially in shop class where things move at warp speed! I learn something new everyday, or I have a bad day!

Posted over 2 years ago Because I have kids coming in during lunch before and after school to get caught up and go from a 'get you grounded' grade to a 'not getting grounded' grade... Looks like they took my offer of meeting them half way seriously...

Posted over 2 years ago I'm just teacihing an hour a week in one of my son's classes, but I really enjoy it already. It sounds trite (or at least lazy), but for all the reason mentioned above, for seeing my kids interacting in his "natural" element, and being a part in a successful classroom.

Posted over 2 years ago I love teaching because kids are surprising, unpredictable and not yet jaded by the world. They're impressionable and interested in learning.

Posted over 2 years ago I love teaching because...we have the unique opportunity to shape and change a child's world. I experienced this phenomenon this very week and it is so amazing that we are able to help kids and families in ways that they can't help themselves.

Posted over 2 years ago i love teaching because you get to hone kids and teach them the values that are essential for them to survive in this battle that we call life!!! more so, teaching kids (particularly preschoolers) gives you perks like free hugs and "i love you teacher" which brightens your day no matter how tiring it is, they just melt your heart!

Posted over 2 years ago I remember so many times in school that the light bulb went on and I FINALLY grasped a new concept. It was exciting and I want to give that to others. I currently teach GED classes through the local community college and the ages and backgrounds are so diverse. It really makes teaching rewarding when you can help someone achieve a long awaited goal, or just help a single mom learn how to help her daughter with her homework.

Posted over 2 years ago I love teaching because I make a difference. One of my former students has come back to say thank you for making class so challenging, he says it is the only reason he recieved a scholarship to a university. That one student's experience is the reason I love to teach.

Posted over 2 years ago worldreligteach said: I have often discovered that I am not critical enough for my own good, but being a critical person and having critical thinking ability are two very different things. I often fear for the next generation because I think they are far too easily duped by boohah. Without destroying idealism, I would like to plant questions as well as answers in young, impressionable minds. It can and should be done in a positive way.

| Posted over 2 years ago I love teaching because the light is still coming "on" in the eyes of students every day. Learning is still taking place and the children and I are having so much fun in class on a daily basis. I would not trade my job for any other in the world. We, teachers truly make a difference in the lives of current and future students. Stephen N. Fox

| Posted about 1 year ago I love teaching because I'm doing what I love best - learning new things and sharing them with others. I couldn't imagine doing something else. Did I mention I was a teacher's pet in elementary school? A witty woman is a treasure; a witty Beauty is a power.
