Register for State Exams
In addition to obtaining a degree, part of the certification process is to pass state exams. You’ll want to register in advance to make sure to allow time for the scores to reach your certification processing center. Many tests fill up quickly, so don’t wait to register. There is a higher fee for last minute registrations.
Taking tests well in advance also allows time to retake if the score doesn’t meet the state requirements. Prepare for the test by studying and taking practice test if available. Talk to other teachers to get a feel for the testing process.
