Education Jobs Thrive Despite Recession
Jill Hare, Editor | TheApple.com
Turn on the TV every night for the news, and you’ll hear about the layoffs nationwide and how families are struggling to make ends meet. Do you know where jobs are growing instead of declining? Education. The U.S. Labor Department reported that 9,800 jobs were added in the field of education in November.
So why is education thriving while the rest of the economy is struggling? When people get laid off, they head back to school. One of the best plans to increase career value is by getting an advanced degree or earn credit hours towards a new skill set. When this many people head back to school, teachers, professors and other education related careers thrive. People going back for degrees can help stimulate the economy in other ways, too, especially where government lending is concerned.
