After 20+ years of teaching (and I still am) in different places in the US and also Europe, (and Iam still exploring different places to teach) . I still find these questions and your answers very helpful. From being in many interviews, these are definitely questions that will come up. It is good for me to review them, and my 2 daughters who are just beginning teaching to have an idea of how to approach these questions and be familiar with them... Makes an interview go much smoother when you have an idea of what you may be asked!!! Thanks. (Sharon)

This is wonderful. I have my very first teaching interview the week after next. I was so nervous during the informal meeting I had with just the principal that I did not not how to answer at least one of his questions. Actually I am still hoping that he contacts me for this interview...

I think I would do fine without rehearsing this. If I don't have a portfolio, then I just don't have one.

Actually verbally going through interview questions OUT LOUD before going to an interview prepares you so much better than just thinking about what you'll say. I had a boyfriend "interview" me from a list of questions similar to this several years ago before my FIRST job interview. I was amazed at how difficult it was to verbalize some of my answers the first time through, and at how smoothly the answers came to me the second time through when I was actually facing a panel.
