Overview:

Referred to as “The City of Brotherly Love” (this is the modern greek translation), Philadelphia is the fifth largest metropolitan area in the United States, with a population of around 5.8 million. As one of the first politically-important state capitals, Philadelphia was the social and geographical crux of the first thirteen American colonies.

With 210,342 students in 346 public and charter schools, Philadelphia has the second highest concentration of students on the U.S. East Coast. The <a href= “http://www.philsch.k12.pa.us/”> School District of Philadelphia, is the eighth largest school district in the nation, and was established in 1818.
