I am from Philadelphia and I agree with ndecker. You need to be strong, courageous disciplined, and CARING! Some of the students just need love. No it is not like Iraq and if you are comparing the two, maybe your not a strong teacher. In real life, kids don't listen to you. Philly has real kids who have see and did more things that you ever will in your life time. I can't wait to get into Grad school and teach for Philly!

My father has been a teacher in the Philadelphia School District with Special Education for the last 30+ years! It's definitely a city that needs strong, courageous, and disciplined teachers!
