I am deeply disappointed that I am a fully-educated teacher with years of experience and can't find a teaching job-even though I'd be willing to take ANY pay to teach-and there is a school willing to pay six digits for teachers with possibly no experience and no teaching certificate. Is the former trainer for Kobe Bryant the gym teacher? He should still have a teaching certificate.

Why is being asked to keep one's political beliefs private considered crazy? Politics and other personal beliefs do not belong in the classroom. Young people are impressionable, and we teachers do not have the right to influence our students by voicing our personal opinions. Instead, we are obligated to help our students learn how to think ON THEIR OWN.
No one is trying to silence teachers. We certainly have the right to campaign for any candidate we so choose, but it should be done outside of the classroom. In the classroom, we must maintain a professional demeanor and teach our curriculum. We have great power to influence young minds, but we must maintain a professional demeanor. Anything less is inappropriate.

We should be encouraging doing physical activity. . . not discouraging it. How long before walking will be struck from playgrounds?

How sad that teachers being happy is considered crazy... and that NYC is paying $125K salaries to individuals with no teaching experience.

Number 3 seems inappropriate in this otherwise light and even humorus presentation.

I recall a Massachusetts School banning running and physical contact on playgrounds in very recent years. We must protect the kids from every possible danger! Perhaps bubble-wrap floors is next?

Not nearly as crazy as gun toting students who are allowed to return to school until found guilty of a crime.
